The Beginning of the American Fall: A Comics Journalist Inside the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Name: The Beginning of the American Fall: A Comics Journalist Inside the Occupy Wall Street Movement
What: Book/Comic
Release: 10/16/2012
Where can I check this out: Amazon

The short version: Political cartoonist, Stephanie McMillan, saw the Occupy movement and was inspired to chronicle it...in cartoon form. What's awesome is that while it serves as satire (with occasionally hysterical art and text), this is the first thing I've read where I really feel like I get the movement. There's not a whole lot to "occupy" in Southern West Virginia, so I didn't really have the right perspective to sit in front of a tv watching CNN and get amped about things. At least now I know what was going on. In all seriousness...this was pretty fun.

The Flaw (Documentary)

Name: The Flaw
What: Documentary
Release: 2010
Where can I check this out: Netflix

The short version: There seem to be a ton of these out now and this one is really only different from the others in style. Nothing here you really haven't heard before ("we knew it was coming!"), but it is sleek and well done. If you haven't already watched 30 movies on this topic then this is pretty awesome...on the other hand, if you have then you can save yourself an hour and a half. I still think Collapse is the best film on the crisis.
